Dating is an art that involves bringing two people together for a mutual benefit of some sort. What you the dater must figure out,"what is it that I am looking for from this relationship or experience?" Is it a long term commitment or is it some type of short term pleasure,e.g. date for a special occasion, companionship, physical pleasure, etc. These are some of the things that you need to answer to better prepare yourself for the interaction with the other person. Someone who is just looking to have a movie date on Friday night is not going to be as concerned about their date's thoughts on parenting(whether the person wants children or not, anyway). Just as if you are looking for a long term relationship, your best candidate is not going to be a person currently in a relationship(dating or married ). But, let's just say that you are someone who is not looking for a commitment. For whatever reason, you just are in date mode. Than this blog is just as much for you as the person seeking a marriage partner. So I am going to outline over the next couple of post, some of the mistakes that we commit in the early dating sequence. You know, the things that don't get you a second date or even a return phone call. You might want to thank me now. I will be saving you from a great deal of heart ache caused by some bonehead mistakes. So keep your eyes open for these topics among others: * TMI Better known as Too Much Information. There are certain things that you should not share with you opposite in the very beginning. * Sex * Ex significant others * Personality Quirks Do some of these, and you will be committing " dating suicide" Since we are not kamikazes, we will try to avoid these and other mistakes. Let us enjoy ourselves here. Ask questions and participate.
