The momentary gasoline prices are a constant focus not only in the energy policy, but also in other political discussions. Nevertheless the prices are at present on an enormous height, so that they will be also for the next elections to the Bundestag again a relevant topic – despite their height to become the prices in the future most likely further to rise. This high price is because of the fact that about 70 per cent of taxes is determined at gasoline. The so much-lamented eco-tax is actually only a small part away and in any case useful, since it decreases the motor traffic. Which is not to be understood so easily, it is for which the money from the eco-tax is used. It would be meaningful for example to invest this money for subsidies in the wind and solar strength for using or it for the research for new means of transport. The research is however something, for which mainly the automobile companies should not care – voluntarily will this however certainly happened. In some states of the USA it gives meanwhile the 0-Emissionsgesetz, in order to force the residents car manufacturers to manufacture a certain prozentzahl at cars without CO˛-Ausstoss – thus with solar energy, biomass or which always occurs to them otherwise – in this way the research under the pressure of the law propelled and even if these cars are sold still relatively little, then the Vorraussetzung exists for one nevertheless already transferred.
In Germany the eco-tax is nevertheless a beginning, and this should not be reduced by any means, if at all, then this should at the most with the other taxes happens, and the eco-tax should be used for environmentalpromoting projects. It was introduced to the reign of red-green under Gerhard Schroeder and both wants it in any case maintained the Greens and the SPD, since they already led to a lowering of the CO˛-Ausstosses. The FDP however wants to abolish the eco-tax, since it is socially unfair the mobility handicapped by poorer humans and thus. The CDU wants it likewise loose will, it for pollution free purposes is not used above all there, wants it maintained however for the time being, in order „the household crisis, into red-green Germany fell“ (quotation CDU program about gasoline price) to eliminate. Up to now by the black-red government (and/or of the coalition partner CDU) also still no attempts were undertaken to implement the decrease or abolishment of the eco-tax in the parliament.
A good possibility, both money into the treasury to wars of adjusting and traffic would be a privatisation of the motorways. These would take money for driving on and would finance them thus, which would decrease also the unnecessary traffic and which (more pollution free) would pass on course more passengers – this again could to the fact lead that due to the higher demand the offer the same also better will and it would be worthwhile itself financially rather to drive with the course.
