Every once in a while it’s nice to get away. Whether the hustle and bustle of city life has worn you down, or you’re in need of a couple of days of solitude to get away from the kids, the oven and everyday household chores; a bed and breakfast vacation could be the remedy to cure your ills.
Bed and breakfast accommodations are not the same as your typical stay in a hotel; while they may share some of the same amenities, the experience is on a whole new level. Hotels are largely built for travelers looking to stay the night in a clean, comfortable room on their way home or on their way to their destination. Bed and breakfast suites are designed with the purpose of a getaway in mind; they are often the end destination for travelers, providing a relaxing experience in a home like setting.
Typically furnished with custom decor, pillow top beds and down feather pillows, a bed and breakfast suite offers a warm and inviting feel; much unlike the cold, yet modernized feel that you receive from your average cookie cutter hotel room. Even the most luxurious suite offered at a high end hotel cannot compare to the sense of “home” that you experience even when walking into your bed and breakfast suite for the very first time. While a clean hotel room can provide a much needed rest for the road weary traveler; a bed and breakfast suite can provide relaxation and rejuvenation for those who have been worn out by life.
It’s not all about the accommodations; there are great differences between your average hotel stay and a bed and breakfast retreat in terms of food, as well. While a hotel’s continental breakfast is a great way to start your day, it has all the same elements as grabbing your breakfast at McDonalds. Prepackaged foods, frozen juices and microwaveable meals “enjoyed” in a clean, but cold feeling, designated eating area with CNN mumbling in the background, keeping you aware of the day’s activities.
Now imagine having a home cooked breakfast, fresh off the grill; freshly squeezed juices and a variety of other beverages served to you; in tranquility. No screaming kids, no busy hotel lobby, just you relaxing and enjoying your morning with a freshly cooked meal, maybe sitting and reading the local newspaper or just enjoying stay in a warm and unrushed environment; a world of difference from your average hotel stay.
If life’s burdens have worn you down, or you just need to get away for a couple of days; a bed and breakfast vacation could very well be the retreat that you are looking for.
